The Mentorship Programme 2015/2016 has started off with a bang and we anticipate the same momentum until the closing ceremony and beyond. The 132 mentees and mentors are all greatly appreciated for volunteering to participate in this year’s programme.
The mentorship programme is aimed at developmental mentoring to provide guidance in every aspect of the mentees’ lives.
Through this partnership I have found not one, but two little sisters, as such I wish everyone has found such a bond.
5 points to remember:
- Mentorship is a mutual relationship – both mentees and mentors should be able to gain a good takeaway.
- Commitment – both members in the partnership has to commit time and effort to building a ‘sister sister’ relationship
- Maintain regular contact
- Openness – Mentors have to be open to learn and understand the difference in the student’s generation and mentees have to be open to allowing the mentors in their lives and sharing with them
- Have fun! – show emotion, enthusiasm and interest in each other’s life
