Yesterday, April 12, 2020, the South Florida Chapter of the Westwood Old Girls Association made a donation of USD $200 on the behalf of Westwood High School and the Alumni Association to the jatogetherwestand.com telethon.
The telethon, a joint effort of the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and Ministry of Health and Wellness, took the form of a Virtual Reggae Concert to raise funds to purchase Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) for Jamaica’s frontline healthcare workers and was available on media platforms across the world.
<The funds donated by the Chapter are proceeds from joint fundraising events with Circle of Friends during the months of November and December 2019. This goes to show, regardless of their numbers the SFWOGA team is still working.
In a statement from President Donna Nicholson, she stated that “… The need is great and I am happy that we are able to make a donation on behalf of WOGA to this worthy cause…”

The entire WOGA body would like to express its gratitude for all frontline workers for their work during this exceptional time around the world. While most of us are being asked to stay home and to use social distancing, frontline workers and essential staff are front and center, taking care of those affected by the COVID 19 virus.
